I was reading some children names people gave to thier kids.
Yes it probably has a meaning to the mother OR maybe its cute but when the kid gets older, they may be the subject to some awful name calling bullies just cause of thier name
Makes you wonder what were these parents thinking ???

What names have you heard that makes you go "poor kid" cause you know thier name gonna get picked on in school?

Mine would have to be APPLE!!! (we all know whos daughter that is lol)
and the name that Ginger Spice gave her daughter... Bluebelle?

Strange odd names... but I don't think they will get picked on since the attention may be more on thier famous moms instead.

The weirdest "What were they thinking?" names I've ever heard was Frank Zappa's daughter "Moon Unit" and his son "Dweezle".

There's also the twin girls that I think is an urban legend, myself. Girls born to the Hogg family were named Ima and Ura.

I think is a novelty to stay in the spotlight just a bit more. Yet they fail to realize the damage it can do to a child's fragile psyche. Look at Kurt Cobain's daughter. Francis Bean. Not only does that child have to deal with the pressure of a F'ked up name but she also has to deal with a drug addle mother and a dad that alledgedly committed suicide under the influence.

I work with people daily and have heard some rediculas names. I've seen Charlie Brown, Donald Duck. Why in the world would you name your child that when you have that as a lastname???? I'm sure people laugh all the time and ask lot's of questions. There's also a gentleman be the name of Harold Coch, he pronounces his name like coach........but I'm sure he got called Harry Cock alot......

I have a friend who had neighbors growing up. The mom's name was Star and they named their daughter Starla. That's horrible!

And there is a Dr. Deeth in Ontario whose surname is actually pronounced "Death"; "Dr. Death will see you now!". True, it's not a given name, but you'd think a doctor in that position would change it -- to Dr. Phillgrave, say.

I got some doozies for ya...first off I work in customer service...the funniest names I heard were...Cinnamon Bunns, Amanda Goodenbed and a girl named Dorkus. I know that's an old name, but still...I worked with a girl who's name was Tara Brown. She was in a hurry to get married due to the fact that her maiden name was Torri....Tara Torri? Her parents were big Gone With the Wind Fans.

I also worked a temp job for HeadStart, which is a preschool sort of for disadvantage families...the names...ahem...Jesus(no not the Spanish pronunciation), God, Unique, Mirror...and the tip of the iceberg they said was a boy with a name pronounced Sha-thead...spelled...S-H-I-T-H-E-A-D.

My sister had a friend who named her child Heaven. Last name Lee. Heaven Lee? OMG. Then another friend who is a Jr. High Special Ed teacher had sisters...Oranjelo and Greenjelo. Apparently Orange Jello and Green Jello are what their mother craved during pregnancy. And yet...another friend with the last name Ketchum who had an uncle Heinz. My mom's friend had last name of Munster, named her first son...Eddie. Yikes. He's my age now.

People are just truly cruel. Hell my own maiden name is Hicks, first name Rachelle pronounced Rachel. Rachel Hicks said fast would be a lesbian porn star name!!! LOL!

Back in the late 90's when I worked for a large news media group, our ad manager told a tale of her then husband and when he was in the USAF. There was a Sgt. Richard Head...and the did shorten his name to Dick. There was also a guy at our high school who's last name was Peters..his mom was Anita Peters.
My all time favorites were Lemonjello, Orangejello, Urine, Female', Shithead, & Shitface'.
Rod and I actually looked up these names to find out if they were real and not urban legends. Most of em were real. When I worked at a women's retail store in our town mall.. we had Queen Pretty, Nefertiti, & a Princess!

I do understand "strane" last names as Head or whatever, but that's how it is.

Yes Tasha i know that, but in that time it really looked stupid and close minded. I remember, i had to go all over Indy and to explain that Kimi (he's most prettiest guy on this planet btw), is male.

Well i like your name and actually it's not only Russian name, it's Slavenic name in general, just like names Ana, Maria or names like that. I have that weird name which is in use only in Finland and it's funny even for me, cause there is no any similar nation to Finns except Estonians.

I know someone that had the legal name of Areedapage pronounced A-Reed-A-Page. She went and had it changed when she was old enough. It is an old Native American family name.

For that reason I was pretty careful what I named my child. It can be pretty harmful to a child to be picked on because of thier name.
