Concur with Lizard. Find things that involve real life meetings in social spaces. Safer, better opportunity to find out what someone is like, and in the case of things like BDSM munches you may also pick up word on the grapevine about whether someone has a track record of being abusive etc.

I believe that some of these services are more viable in some areas, than others. I don't live near any larger cities, but when I hadn't had a partner for a while I have thought of trying Silver Daddies.
