I am seeing similar in some LGBT+ sites / forums I own, .. at one stage in my own sites we were dealing with 100+ spam posts a day so I put in a 3 day new member read only setting and that cut it down by 90% for about 4 days, then the people running the spam bots just changed the settings in their spam bots.....

Now we are lucky to see one a week, because people are moving away from forums to twitter, fb and tiktok........and that has raised the question for me, if running LGBT+ sites are viable now, as the new member sign up and post rates are 5% of what they were, 7 years ago, and the sites no longer suit people when they can use apps and messenger services to better effect
