If I detected interest and vibes, I'd be bold and suggest we go relax in my room and have more drinks. He (or she) could either accept or say no. Sometimes the guy or gal was way ahead of me and doing all but inviting themselves to join me in my room. Not suprisingly, I had the most success picking up men or women in my own hotel lounge. Most places I stayed had "businessman special" happy hours in the late afternoon.
