Sexual addiction is best described as a progressive intimacy disorder characterized by compulsive sexual thoughts and acts. Like all addictions, its negative impact on the addict and on family members increases as the disorder progresses. Over time, the addict usually has to intensify the addictive behavior to achieve the same results.
For some sex addicts, behavior does not progress beyond compulsive masturbation or the extensive use of pornography or phone or computer sex services. For others, addiction can involve illegal activities such as exhibitionism, voyeurism, obscene phone calls, child molestation or rape.

Since you did ask...I find porn to be boring and don't masturbate to it, never really got into phone sex, and while I have a high sex drive and so does my partner we just have sex with each other or masturbate both together and alone.

I do know a bisexual man who got addicted to paying for sex with female strippers who are whores, and spending money on whores while drunk, bored, horny, or on drugs and he's married.

I haven't had contact with him for decades...so I have no idea if he ever got help for his addictions or not?

I am a sex addict.

I wondered for a while if I was a sex addict, a nymphomaniac, something else, or if they were different things at all. I've heard different definitions, opposite definitions. Some say that one or the other means they no longer enjoy sex, and that is definitely NOT the case with me.

I think the addiction is multifaceted though, not just one thing. When it comes to sex, I like the endorphin rush. In some situations, there's also an adrenaline rush that intensifies the feeling. Also, having an orgasm is pleasurable. On top of all of this is a need to feel desired, and perhaps a bit of wanting the attention.

When it interferes in day to day life. For example, masturbating at work or a public place. Or masturbating to the point to cause personal bodily harm (for example, chafing or muscle soreness).

I am the type of bisexual that gives others a bad name. I am attracted to the sex more than the gender. When some people think of bisexuals who are hypersexed, I unfortunately fit into that stereotype.

To be crude... While I prefer men, I do not need a cock to get off. I also find many women to be beautiful.

When for you is porn too much? Did porn ever interfere with your day to day life?

I look at porn at work. I have Tumblr installed on my phone and have a Tumblr account dedicated to porn. I sometimes browse it when in a public place. I have looked at porn while sitting next to someone who I would not want them to know that I am looking at porn.

While I'm pretty open in general, this is pretty out there, even for me. Please be nice.

I do think you're right there. There are addictive and compulsive tendencies to everyone to some degree, but some of those things are socially acceptable, while others aren't.

Self diagnosis. Professionals disagree on whether sex addiction is a real thing. Many think an intense craving for sex is just a symptom of an underlying issue, and I don't disagree with that. It's not officially listed in the book on mental disorders.
