What traits would you like to experience on a bisexual website?

Aside from the obvious chat, strong moderators, and a troll free zone?

I agree. Strong moderators and no trolling.

Agreed. Effective moderators makes one site I belong to an actual community and support site.
I hope my achievements in life shall be these: that I will have fought for what was right and fair, that I will have risked for that which mattered, that I will have given help to those who were in need...that I will have left the earth a better place for what I've done and who I've been. ...and just what is this 'actual community site?'...

I know it's naïve but I like total openness, honesty, and consideration among the guests.
I've worn a beret, a badge, and a suit and tie. Now I prefer wearing nothing!

Most men, at one time or another, have wished they could suck their own cocks.
A real man, admits he'd like to suck other cocks

Agreed but recent events have proved to me a need for strong moderators who support openness. That is, a dictator level moderate who doesn't tolerate other beliefs or opinions would be a negative but not tolerating people who attack and actively try to discourage others would be real asset. If someone from the latter group want to set up their own forum and moderate to restrict views to their own view point, the rest of us could just avoid it (provide a site moderator could stop extreme activity such as references to minors and unconsented violence to others).

As I write this, I am trying to find a way to define a middle path--not active liberalism or conservatism whatever those are--but one where members can express disagreement with respect, advice without dogma, offer a choice without demanding agreement.

All of the above seems like the right direction!

I've seen some real growth lately here. My head hurts when I see the off topic trolling that occurs. Don't feed the trolls. Stay on topic. Moderate, be considerate- BE a community.

Realize when you receive personal attacks, it's not about you. It's good to see the attempt to build back, make more of, this site. We can help one another if we choose.

    Re: The Ideal Bisexual Site

    Thanks so far.

Most of the ideas are good. The concept of moderation has been discussed many times here. Open dialogue has been a goal. With recent events, the concept of what is bisexual site about comes foreword.

Recent behaviour of trolls bringing back former troll versions of kink so that it appears to be an oft repeated thread topic seems to be an issue when presenting on a web site bisexual interests as far as sexual practices of bisexuals. When comparing this site to other bisexual sites it is clear that base level porn is what this site is increasingly about due to a lack of moderation.

Are glory holes bisexually based? Do most bisexuals have glory holes as a main part of bisexual activity? It seems to me that there are certain beliefs that are more bisexual while other sexual practices fall more into kink. The case of glory holes are a more specialize section of homosexual kink practices that depersonalize same sex behaviour.

An ideal bisexual site would not have as a goal depersonalizing behaviour. It would be a source of information including but not exclusively about the mechanics. It would deal with compassionate support for bisexuals trying to understand themselves.

To the extent that I can I also like to offer support to people, not everything in life is smiley basket full of rainbows but I think life is just easier when you know that someone else is cheering you on.

    Re: The Ideal Bisexual Site

This site would work with some changes. Rather than one forum, there should be three. One for serious discussions of issues. The second would be polls. That takes care of one member. No polls anywhere else. The third would be the wild west, which this forum is. One and two would be moderated. Three would not unless someone is writing insulting or inappropriate things. Bisexual.com just needs better management.

The present state of this site is the main reason for this thread’s existence. The main reasons for the present state of the site is a lack of chat and lack of oversight.I doubt oversight will return. Until, chat went away as well as the members that used it, the forum discussion included a larger range of interests and discussion. I have never been into using chat, but with chat, the most active and loyal member that defined this site always had an alternative means to communicate on what was important to them. So, having the forum out-of-control or off topic was less of an issue for retaining these members when chat was available. Now, very few members are log in very often. What else would I change? What does it matter if the basics are not fixed?

Jem...I don't think tenni was asking what changes you'd like to see in bisexual.com. I think he was asking what you'd like to see in a bisexual web site.

[Oh, and Charlie, to your question? You'd be the 2nd-to-last person I'd tell. You wouldn't like it there anyway...it doesn't have what you're looking for.]

I am transferring in part a post from another thread where I posted.

I think that any bisexual site needs to create a place of feeling safe to write from yourself your fears etc. without having to fear rejection. Rejection on a bisite is a killer..except this excessive gratuitous sex porn. Such behaviour lowers the value of site except to jerk off..lol

I do think that there is a place for more information sex practices on a bisexual site. Gratuitous mindless dribble with unintelligent threads like have you ever.... do not add to the site. They degrade the site and discourse on bisexuality.

Annika is correct. It is an ideal site and this site has fallen far from an ideal site.
You are correct that the status of bi.com is the prime reason to begin to discuss an ideal rather than "fix this site".

If you want to see and read posts and threads that have little to nothing to do with bisexuality, and are mindless dribble that degrade the site and discourse on bisexuality look at your own posts, threads, and trollings posted by Tenni who is highly negative, and trolls/flames/attacks/stalks people on this site he does not like or personally agree with.

    Re: The Ideal Bisexual Site

Just because you don't feel a strong need for personal contemplation of what it means to be bisexual doesn't mean that other people should be denied that discussion. I think that there is room for both types of discussions on the forum.

Tenni,I understand what you wanted and Annika noted was missing in my reply. So, I should have added that before this site lost its’ way, it was the perfect bisexual site for me.It had active members that spanned the full spectrum of bisexuals, (trolls to saints).I liked how that worked in the forum and troll action was actively contained. No, it did not fulfill all my on-line needs, but no one site can do that for all bisexuals.
