    Guide to acronyms

I'm seeing lots of abbreviations and acronyms, especially in the personals, that I don't know what they mean. I can't be the only clueless one on here. Can someone give a rundown of some of the most common ones and what they stand for?

    I had never heard/read/seen "n/nsa" before.

Since 4ever, the acronym "NSA" or "nsa" stood for "No Strings Attached" (most likely a one-off, especially non-emotional and discreet hook-up). SEX ONLY.

Anything that might entail ongoing, public hanging-out/socializing, monogamy or other "rules" would therefore be "strings", and definitely not under "NSA".

Funny thing is, I googled "n/nsa" and found this following webpage, which is worthless, absolutely http://www.internetslangs.net/N/NSA-...tion-full-form

It has also, even since before the era of hookup ads (previously printed, now online) always stood for "No Specific Agency", which was an inside joke among the spooks actually referring to "The National Security Agency", the actual spoox in the US and now spanning the entire globe.

    BINGO!

You're now on the same "Target Watch List" as me.

This means your private little moniker anonymizing you to the rest of us is *catalogued and indexed* by your own NSA. This cute little secret name you use, presumably for even some peeps you might wanna sleep wit -- is such an extreme reversal of tables; it makes me, an athiest, wanna pray to G_D that you 'mericans keep your cool and don't ever bring out the guns on each other (and us Canadians up here).

I understand the need for clarity and "cooler heads" to prevail.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

    Yeah, you're right.
Why ask us, when all I'm gonna do is Google it myself.
I wouldn't have answered either, except it seems I'm in a rather long 'queue' at the moment.
I suppose, too much bandwidth is going to porn. LOL!

Melody Dean, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rain on your thread. It's just that I've been somewhat worked-up lately, and I really should learn to better compartmentalize my murderous rage.

Your idea for a Guide to acronyms is a good one.

For example, one that is important to know........... I've seen a lot, and it's truly scary, is "pnp", which stands for "party and play" which is an inherently unsafe sexual practice involving crystal methamphetamine shared by way of penis inserted into anus. That's what "pnp" actually means!

Naturally, people who "pnp" are at an incredibly alarming risk of becoming HIV+, among other things. If you see a sex ad/profile that says "pnp" it is a direct reference to methamphetamine, for sure, and classically, it's delivered or "shared" during unprotected sex.

Things you ought to know in 2014.

    Re: Guide to acronyms

^^^^^^ No, I'm pretty certain that "pnp" always refers to meth. Meth is an incredibly dangerous drug. Probably the most socially destructive drug ever to have aflicted humankind. It is extremely addictive, and there is something about the way it completely removes inhibitions and impulse control, along with sensory/rush aspects that lead to its rampant use in gay bathhouses during orgies. Under these conditions, people using condoms effectively is just not how it goes.

Avoid like the plague, anyone even "dabbling" in meth. It's not like cocaine, where there were many "successful users" who held-down top-shelf positions while contributing a lot to society and/or their families/professions/work, etc. Meth isn't like that. Meth is much more 'corrosive'. Meth can and will ruin anyone touching it. Because of its usage pattern, STDs and especially HIV are rampant among long-term meth addicts (because of needle sharing, prostitution to pay for habits, as well as actual usage patterns in bathhouses and such).

Another super scary acronym to add to the collection, is "CBT".

If you ever read a personal ad or hookup profile and it says "CBT", you should be forewarned that it stands for "Cock and Ball Torture"!

    Re: Guide to acronyms

Actually PNP means having sex while on drugs. It does not have to be meth. It can be just someone who is drunk, or who is stoned on herb. Or it can be any other drug like Ketamine, coke/crack, or heroin and other opiates.

No my partner and I have never done this. When we were single we avoided drunks and drug users when we dated people. Neither of us use drugs or get drunk.

    Re: Guide to acronyms

For the record, my comment was not aimed at telling someone to google it for themselves, it was aimed at the elimination of acronyms to prevent confusion, because seriously - typing it out is just a few more buttons. Granted I'm plenty guilty of using them, too.

    Re: Guide to acronyms

Whatever bibedbud. PNP is just another term for having sex, usually unprotected while on drugs.

It doesn't necessarily mean someone always using meth as the one link mentions other drugs.

"PNP" was a term created by silly sociologists and nothing more. People in the so called LGBT/gay community have been doing it for decades. Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the past 20 years knows about it as it's not anything new.
