I've seen lots of ads on in the Casual Encounters section Craigslist for what appears to be prostitutes. I assume the ones that sneak a phone number into the ad are for sex-for-cash.
Before I reach out to one, I was wondering, what is the going rate for paying for sex with a woman, the rate for sex with a man and the rate for paying for sex from a transgendered woman? Optimally, I'd like to have sex with a transgendered individual with breasts and a penis, but I'm up for anything.

I wouldn't do that, could be online sting operations there; if not, authorities could still be spying so as to arrest both parties. Maybe that's farfetched, but just don't go that route.
The "Casual Encounters" section on Craigslist, however, I don't think is intended for prostitutes, but like many hookup sites, is used by people looking for "Casual Encounters," though some prostitutes would likely use Craigslist.
Prostitution is illegal in most states, I don't think Craigslist forges a loophole, and I also believe authorities are always on the look out to weed out any sex4$ arrangements.
If I may offer now a thought, there are escort services, which are legal, as you are paying only for company, while anything else is but a mutual act between two consenting adults. Such sessions, however, can ride for $500/hour, over a thousand for overnights, and escorts will likely make you work for sex. How so? Again, anything beyond temporary companionship is a mutual act between two consenting adults, and is not directly entailed in the escort's service; ergo, you'd probably have to spend more than an hour as the recipient of said-company before the "mutual act between two consenting adults" at no cost is met. The sex may be free (hence not illegal), but the cost for everything else prior (be it massage or whatever) may be astronomical.
In short: Just don't do it.

I don't know about the prices flynn. Where I live, the Craig casual can have some guys who suggest prostitution but I suspect that the prices will be based on amount of time and what you want to do. I 've read ads from transwomen that make it fairly clear that it is pay to play and ask to be contacted. I've seen ads suggesting pay for both women and men and
a few suggesting massage with happy endings but no price in prin.
It will be interesting to read what people report. Although it is not for my preferences, it is a good question flynn.
Why would you pay for a whore? There are enough women, men, and trans people who will have sex with you for free who are not whores/prostitutes, and who don't have major drug addictions the way most prostitutes/whores do.

I think the biggest thing to consider is whether or not you are supporting human trafficking. Obviously that is a huge concern of the Police (and I would imagine the vast majority of people on this site don't want to support it either). If you used an escort from a higher end site like Eros I think the odds of them being human traffic victims are lower so Police interest will be lower as well. If what you are doing isn't a public "quality of life" crime (like the restroom example) or supporting human trafficking then odds of getting arrested go down a lot.

Although human trafficking is an important issues, I doubt a few men paying for sex will make a difference. If you have concerns about the prostitute as being human trafficking report it to the police(privately if you are so inclined). Human trafficking goes beyond sex in the labour force.

The emotional responses from "po_s" are standard for him and obviously deep seated from his past. A life of criticisms from the people close to him. No discussion, just judgement. He knows no other way. If you read his responses, they are closed off and critical of everyone who is not him. Occasionally, he has a good day and can be constructive. Arguing with him reinforces his belief that he is the only person right in his world. I read his input from time to time with the same interest as watching an episode of Jerry Springer.
