ROFL Peg, I've seen that floating around the net for a bit but it still makes me laugh. For those in other countries the GED test is what high school dropouts or early testouts can go take to be certified as having finished school. It's required for a lot of jobs here in the US now, even flipping burgers at Mickey D's.

To be fair, I have known a few people who can flirt a canoeist out of the water.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I've always wondered if most of these such lists aren't fabrications. So many of these are a play on words or something that actually suggests a greater grasp of the material than even a correct answer would.

Maybe it is like that in NZ with HS drop outs and whatever you have instead of the GED but it's not like that here in the U.S.

Nowadays a HS diploma or GED don't do much at all and you are not going to get into a well paying job or a position of power with just a GED or a HS diploma.

I am not sure how qualified you have to be to flip burgers in the us... or run the country.....

in nz, I left school at 14.... yet I have managed and run my own businesses..... its not a piece of paper that decides how intelligent you are, or how good your life can be..... its how you can apply what lil you learn, in the right ways....... and there are many people out there with pieces of paper, that have to eat out every night... cos they can not boil a egg

Yes Dear, its just a humorous play on words.,...but with some the kids in schools nowdays, ya never know. You'd be Surprised what I've heard out of students. And some of 'em slaughter the english language worse than "I" do....and I do it on purpose...lol:bigrin:

Yep...

..and there is some truth in the second paragraph.. there are some right smart arses in our schools take it from me.. but sometimes they can be too smart for their own good.. especially if and when they are smart arses in exams which matter.. prelims are 1 thing and Ive seen some really bright smart arse answers which I know are just that.. but if they are smart arsed enough to answer such in their actual SQA exams then they are not as smart as they believe themselves to be..

The only problem we see with this is that most of the GED test is multiple choice and doesn't require written answers in most sections. We helped a neighbor prepare for the test so he could get in the military. The original post is a portion of a joke email that has been circulating on the internet for years. I mention this because we have many members who are not familiar with the GED.:2cents:
