Doing it Ourselves is a hot collection of trans women and their partners of all genders engaging in sex the way they want to be represented. Starting with a group of trans women who are tired of the way that they have seen trans women portrayed in porn, this film tells the story of its own creation when the decide to, well, do it themselves.

Having been in mainstream trans women porn myself, I know just how unrealistic it is. While I appreciated the individuals I worked with, I resented being referred to in derogatory terms, requirements that my body perform on command, and being asked to do things that are physically impossible for many trans women but have become standard in the industry. I felt like I had to strip away every symbol of my queerness and do my best to mimic the way trans women and women in general are thought of in male fantasy.

Yay! I ordered this the minute I got the e-mail from Tobi, and it was just as awesome as I expected- hot, a good mix of pre/non-op and post-op, inclusion of a trans dude, decent music, yada yada. I also loved the speech Tobi gave as part of one of the bonus bits.

If you like your porn indie and with "cutie next door" queer types, it's great. (Fans of more L.A.-style, professional-shot porn might look to Mandy Mitchell or other sites run by the girls themselves, if they want to support TS porn made by TS women).
