Those were funny Miller ads--they did not seem to last too long though!!

As far as putting a lime in beer is concerned--that did to my knowledge come from Mexico and down there in most of Mexico-they use limes with all sorts of foods. With most Mexican beers--the lime does taste good squeezed in it.

For hard liquor--I'm partial to good Kentucky Bourbon and among my faves of that are Maker's Mark, Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace. I only drink these a few ways--straight, neat or perhaps included in one of the classic whiskey/bourbon cocktails like mint juleps, old fashioneds or Manahattans.

I was told that lime around the edges of the glasses and around beer bottles originally kept ants and such critters out of your cocktail. It also enhances the flavour of Mexican beer because of the water quality that is initially used in the brewing process. There was a long technical and chemical component to this story, but it was lost on me.

Taylor, if you like bourbon, you've got to try Woodford Reserve. We always have it in the packs of clean clothes when we change clothes after caving. It certainly warms you up after a long 54 degree cave trip, and soothes those sore muscles. Not to mention getting you ready to party when you get back to camp!

I love and grew up on Monty Python.
In my early years it was Saturday nite watching Monty, then the Baby Blue Movie.
Some of the best tv I've seen was City TV's over nite live show featuring a security guard wandering around with a live feed. That was back in the 70's. Couldn't be done now....
