It seems that the only way to return to the forum index after viewing a topic is to use the computer's back key, or the browser's back button, which results in the read topic appearing as unread. The other way is to page up through the whole thread until you get to Forum Forum Directory Main Forum Site Feedback Post New Thread area and select Main Forum. This gets you to the Index with already read topics grayed instead of bold. The old php design had a Return to Forum button at the bottom of the page which was much more convenient.

Thx biguycancun. I will look into that and fix it, but it will be relatively low priority.

There is also the 'quick navigation' button after the last post and above the quick reply. Just open up the dropdown and select main forum.

Good find! Perhaps changing the default to Main Forum is a simpler fix.

And it seems that once you select Main Forum, it remains the default choice for the session, but you still have to scroll to it.

From the drop down menu on the quick navigation, select where in the site you want to go and click on it. That's how I do it.
